N9 is one of the ten N-series pilot cars built by Porsche in 1985, and one of only two completed in Sport specification. It was used for dealer training and press demonstrations. The Sport's weight plaque quotes 1,750kg, about 100kg less than a Komfort, helped by the absence of rear seats and electric windows. Its suspension adjusts for stiffness only.
Unlike most of the prototypes, it is built on a 959-series chassis rather than a converted 930 Turbo. Its chassis number carries the 1985 'F' code, which suggests it may be the first production-chassis 959 and the first 959 Sport. The page presents this as a theory rather than a confirmed fact.
The car went to Japan and spent years on display at the Mahoujin Museum in Tochigi. It was thought lost until DK Engineering inspected it in 2024. It was then exported to the UK and recommissioned in the dealer's workshop. The page shows it as sold, with no price or mileage given.

The maker’s official figures for this model, not measurements of this car (Only the engine and drivetrain layout shared by all 959s (Porsche data) are given. I can't find any Porsche-published figures for a 1985 '959 Sport Prototype': 1985 cars were prototypes and production began in 1987, so performance figures are null.).
