The 993 GT2 was Porsche's homologation special for the 1995 GT2 racing class: a rear-drive, twin-turbocharged 3.6-litre flat-six with bolt-on wide arches, a lighter interior and a large adjustable rear wing. It was the last air-cooled turbo 911 and only a small number were built for the road. This car is one of an reported 17 delivered new to Japan, from a total of 172 road cars according to the dealer.
It was built in June 1995 and supplied new that September in Polar Silver Metallic with black leatherette bucket seats and grey leather inserts. It is left-hand drive with a six-speed manual gearbox. The first owner reportedly switched from a race-specification order once the factory confirmed a short run of street-legal cars, and the correspondence is on file. The earlier sports steering wheel, also used in the GT1, is noted in the paperwork.
The history file includes Japanese service books and 27 recorded services between March 1997 and June 2024, with invoices from Australia and the UK. It was imported to the UK in February 2020 and has been with its current owner since February 2021, including a trip to the 2022 Le Mans Classic. It shows 21,727 miles, has paint protection film fitted, and comes with handbooks, tools, jack and the original exhaust. A sports exhaust is fitted at present.
