This is a right-hand-drive 911 2.4 S Targa from 1973, the first year Porsche offered the Targa with the steering wheel on the right. Only 18 of the top-specification 2.4 S Targas were supplied to the UK, and the dealer believes just three of those were originally silver. This car is a matching-numbers example in its original combination of Silver Metallic (936) with blue leather and Madras plaid seat inserts. It has a five-speed manual gearbox and the 190 bhp fuel-injected 2.4-litre flat-six.
It was delivered new through AFN of Isleworth. Its ownership history is well documented: the second owner kept it for more than 40 years, and the file is said to run to three folders. The file includes service invoices, MOTs, correspondence, the original book pack, a stamped service book and the owner's manual. Recorded mileage is 126,122.
Export 56 has recently restored it. The body was taken to bare metal, chemically dipped and e-coated. The car has a new Kroon wiring harness, restored brakes, steering and suspension, retrimmed interior and refinished Fuchs wheels on Michelin XWX tyres. The dealer quotes restoration invoices above £175,000 and says the car has covered under 1,000 miles since. It is UK registered and MOT'd. The price is on application.

The maker’s official figures for this model, not measurements of this car (Porsche factory data for the 1972-73 911 2.4 S: 190 PS DIN (187 bhp), 2341cc mechanically injected flat-six, 230 km/h. Targa kerb weight and 0-60 left null because I'm not sure of them.).
