This 1970 911 S uses the 2,179cc flat-six, the most potent road engine in the early long-wheelbase 911 range. It was built in December 1969 to US specification and sold new in Lanham, Maryland, in July 1970. It is left-hand drive and finished in Irish Green, a rare colour, with the Comfort Package and tinted glass.
The history is well travelled. After Maryland it moved to Pennsylvania in 2003 and California in 2005, then returned to Germany in 2009. The engine and gearbox were overhauled by a Porsche specialist in Würzburg in April 2010. It came to England in 2014 and was registered with the DVLA that March. The seat covers and carpets were refurbished by a Dutch Porsche specialist before delivery.
A Porsche Certificate of Authenticity confirms the car still has its original matching-numbers engine. The history file holds US title documents, maintenance invoices, German registration papers and DVLA correspondence. The dealer says the date of the bodywork restoration is unknown, but describes the panels, paint and interior as very good. The car has spent much of its UK life in storage with little use.

The maker’s official figures for this model, not measurements of this car (Porsche factory specifications for the 1970 911 S 2.2: 180 PS DIN, 220 km/h, 1,020 kg DIN. Porsche gave only a 0-100 km/h time, so 0-60 mph is left blank.).
