Porsche 356 A Cabriolet

This 1957 356 A Cabriolet is a left-hand-drive car finished in Aquamarine Blue with a red leather interior and a tan mohair hood. The Certificate of Authenticity gives a production completion date of 5 July 1957 and lists a trip odometer, a Ponto-Stabil driver's mirror, sealed-beam headlights and US bumpers.

Its history is well documented. The Kardex shows it was shipped through Sonauto in Paris to its first owner in New York in November 1957, originally in Aquamarine Blue with blue leather. It later passed to owners in New Mexico from 2005, was imported to the UK in 2013 and was registered here in 2016 after extensive work. Lux Classics sold the car in 2020, and it is now back on sale.

The 2016 restoration included new floor pans and longitudinal sections, with a bare-metal repaint supported by photographs and invoices. The gearbox was fully rebuilt and the engine serviced, and an sports exhaust is fitted. It still runs on its original 6-volt electrical system. The dealer says the engine has not been fully rebuilt recently. The car is being prepared in the dealer's workshop and can be viewed by appointment. The price has been reduced by £10,000.
