This is a right-hand-drive Porsche 356B T5 coupe, a rarity in itself, finished in Ivory over black leatherette, the combination it left the factory with. It has matching numbers and a Certificate of Authenticity.
The car was first registered in November 1960 in Johannesburg, South Africa, and stayed there until it was imported to the UK in 2022. The history file holds the original driver's manual, period ephemera and a substantial run of maintenance invoices, along with the import paperwork. It has had a recent repaint in its original colour, and the interior is described as in particularly fine order.
Since arrival in the UK more than £65,000 has been spent. The engine has been rebuilt to fast-road specification with a big-bore kit and Weber carburettors, and there is a sports exhaust. Brakes and steering box have been rebuilt, and the clutch, gearbox mount, differential and wheel bearings renewed, with a high-torque starter fitted. The dealer is still running the engine in and making post-rebuild adjustments, so the car is not yet ready for sale. No mileage is stated.
