Porsche 356 A

This 1957 Porsche 356A Coupe is one of the transitional T1/T2 cars, blending features of both generations. It has early-style door handles with later buttons, the higher-mounted T1 door catch and teardrop rear lights, details that make these cars of particular interest to 356 enthusiasts. It is a right-hand-drive car in 60 bhp specification, finished in Solid Black over a Burgundy leather interior, with a factory sunroof and integral driving lights.

The car was supplied new through Raftay of Hamburg to a serving member of the British Armed Forces stationed in Germany, with a guarantee commencement date of 31 May 1957. A substantial restoration was completed in 2007, with bodywork by marque specialist Cliff Gregory and final assembly by 356 authority Roger Bray.

The odometer reads 68,839 miles, and just over 2,000 of those have been covered since the restoration, including touring in the Italian Lakes. An extensive history file holds the restoration invoices, records and photographs of the work.
