The MG TD was the car that introduced many American servicemen and British enthusiasts to open-top sports motoring after the war. This 1951 example is offered as a lightly patinated, usable car rather than a concours piece, finished in mid olive green with a black hood, cream leather and a traditional burr walnut dashboard.
It comes from a retired engineer who spent the past year on it. The engine oil and filter have been changed to 20/50 classic oil, and the gearbox and rear axle drained and refilled with 80/90. All suspension and steering grease nipples have been replaced, the brake pads are new and bedding in, and the fluid and antifreeze have been renewed.
New tyres are fitted all round on pressed steel wheels, with a rear-mounted spare. The 12V battery is wired positive earth, and a hood bag and side screens are included. The floor is covered in vinyl, though carpets could be fitted. The dealer says the car starts easily and runs well. No mileage is stated, and the page gives two different registration numbers.
