The 280 SL was the final and most desirable development of the W113 "Pagoda" line, with a fuel-injected 2.8-litre six-cylinder engine. This 1969 car is finished in silver-grey metallic (180) over black MB-Tex, with a black soft top and a matching hardtop. It has power steering, automatic transmission and is described as matching numbers.
It has had one previous owner, who bought it in 1987 and has used it on road trips ever since. The paint has been refreshed at some point but the colour has not changed. The engine is original to the car, with internal work that includes a new head gasket, valve guides and timing chain. The dealer says recent cold-start and running problems have been fixed.
The seats and carpets are the original MB-Tex, and the car shows patina rather than restoration. The page says bills and MOT records go back to 1987. The dealer says the owner drove it about four hours from the East Coast without trouble.

The maker’s official figures for this model, not measurements of this car (Mercedes-Benz Classic factory data for the 280 SL (W113): 170 PS DIN, 200 km/h with manual gearbox. Only a 0-100 km/h time was published, so 0-60 is null.).
