The 280 SL was the most developed form of the W113 "Pagoda" SL, with the fuel-injected 2.8-litre M130 straight-six giving it more flexibility and touring ability than the earlier cars. This 1969 example has a four-speed automatic gearbox and power steering, which suits the relaxed grand-tourer character of the model.
It is a left-hand-drive car imported from Geneva and now registered in the UK. In 2021 it completed a BRABUS Classic six-star ground-up restoration, in which it was dismantled and rebuilt across the bodywork, mechanicals and interior. It has covered only 621 miles since.
The colour scheme is Horizon Blue with a matching folding soft top and a removable hardtop with its garnish mouldings, over Cognac leather, burled wood and brown carpet. Period details include a Becker radio and an ivory steering wheel. The tool kit, jack and spare wheel are included.
