Listed today at Classicmobilia, Milton Keynes. Last checked today.
The 170 S was the car that helped Mercedes-Benz return to making upmarket cars after the Second World War. Introduced in 1949, it was a more comfortable and better-finished development of the pre-war 170 V, and the hand-built cabriolet versions were the most expensive and are now the rarest. This 1950 car is a right-hand-drive two-door with a 1.8-litre four-cylinder engine and a manual gearbox.
It is finished in beige with a red interior that the dealer describes as original. The odometer shows 50,000 miles. The page says it was first bought by the current family in 1953 and has been used sparingly since, with a photographic record of holidays and touring trips.
The page also says the car has been regularly serviced, with the work recorded over the years. The listing shows one previous keeper and no price, so buyers need to enquire.
