Maserati Khamsin

The Khamsin was Marcello Gandini's Bertone-styled successor to the Ghibli, powered by a front-mounted 4.9-litre dry-sump V8 and fitted with a ZF five-speed manual gearbox and independent rear suspension. Only 71 of the 430 built were right-hand drive, and this 1978 car was supplied new through UK concessionaires MTC Cars to a London owner.

Maserati Classiche confirm it was ordered in Celeste Chiaro with blue Connolly hide, which is how it looks today. After years in a Cornish barn it was repainted in a non-original dark blue, then restored between 2012 and 2015 for the current owner. That work covered a bare-metal respray in the original colour, a full engine and drivetrain rebuild, and new dashboard covering and carpets. Invoices on file total around £150,000. The original blue interior was kept, and the car is described as matching numbers.

It shows 60,000 miles, with roughly 4,000 added since the restoration, mostly on Maserati Club events including the 2019 International Rally in Scotland. Early owners included the clock and watch expert Richard Price. The car is offered fully serviced with a new MOT.
