This is a 1971 Maserati Ghibli 4.9 SS Spyder, one of the rarest versions of Giugiaro's low-slung V8 grand tourer. Only 128 Ghibli Spyders were built, 46 of them in SS specification, and just 14 of those were European-specification cars with the five-speed manual gearbox. Four of the 14 were right-hand drive, and the dealer believes this is the last of them, as well as the fifth from last SS Spyder made.
It was supplied new to the UK and was ordered with the optional factory removable hardtop, which is seldom seen. The 4.9-litre quad-cam V8, developed by Giulio Alfieri, produces about 335 bhp. The car is finished in blue with a tan interior.
The history file includes factory correspondence, period photographs and magazine material, plus a silver trophy from a Best of Show concours appearance. The car has had a three-year nut-and-bolt restoration in Sydney, documented with invoices and photographs. The page gives no mileage or registration.

The maker’s official figures for this model, not measurements of this car (Maserati factory figures for the Ghibli SS: 4930cc V8 with 335 PS (330 bhp) and a top speed of 280 km/h. Weight and 0-60 are left blank because no reliable factory figures were found. No announced build limit; about 25 were built.).
