Chassis 782-11 is one of two March 782s delivered new to Maublanc Racing Services for its Ecurie Univac European Formula 2 programme in 1978. The 782 was the car to have that year, taking all but three of the European F2 victories. This example appeared in the team's press photographs and served as a spare to Jean-Pierre Jarier's car, while Alain Couderc and Pierre Maublanc drove it. Henri Pescarolo won the 1979 Hébecrevon hillclimb in it.
The ownership chain is documented in a Race Car Histories 'Brief History' dossier by Chris Townsend. It passed through French hillclimb owners, then the USA, where it was restored, before returning to the UK. The current owners bought it in 2016.
A full rebuild followed in 2019, with a new tub and rear wing. Lester Owen rebuilt the BMW M12/7 engine, which has covered about 400 miles since. Racing Transmissions rebuilt the Hewland FT200 gearbox in November 2021. New FIA HTPs were issued in 2022 and run to December 2032. The car has won in the HSCC Derek Bell Trophy and scored several podiums in the Historic Formula 2 series.
