This is a 1987 Land Rover Defender rebuilt by Oshe as a one-off restomod, named Okavango after the African river. Oshe strips each car back and re-engineers it, and no two specifications are repeated. This one blends Series 2A-style heritage design with modern engineering.
Power comes from a Rover 3.5-litre V8 with Holley fuel injection, paired with a four-speed automatic gearbox. Tractive electronically controlled suspension and AP Racing brakes update the chassis. The body has a clean heritage-style front and rear, lift-handle doors, a dropping windscreen and seamless side panels, finished in Okavango Green with an anthracite powder-coated chassis and custom steel wheels.
The cabin is trimmed in Murula Red leather with heated Muirhead seats, box-weave carpet and a mahogany centre console with matching steering wheel. The PRND selector is adapted from an antique Bar-Lock typewriter, a nod to the original owner, a journalist and author. A Burmester sound system is fitted and an Ndebele-pattern panel was hand-painted by artist Anna Selomo.
