The XK150 was the last of Jaguar's XK line, with a higher scuttle and waistline than the XK120 and XK140, a wider grille, a curved one-piece windscreen and Dunlop disc brakes at all four corners. This 1959 Drophead Coupé has the 3.4-litre twin-cam straight-six, rated at 180 bhp, and a manual gearbox with overdrive.
It is a UK-registered car that has been restored from the chassis up. The present owner bought it in 1989 when it needed substantial work, and the restoration followed from there. It is now finished in Signal Red with a black leather interior and chrome wire wheels. Dual exhausts and spotlights have been added. The odometer reads 18,277 miles.
A history file records the build and later trips around the UK and Europe, including handwritten notes from the owner. It also holds invoices from well-known Jaguar specialists, among them VSE, Forward Engineering, Aldridge Trimming, Motor Wheel Services and M&C Wilkinson.
