Jaguar Mk V 3.5 Litre 3-Position DHC

The Mk V was Jaguar's last pre-XK saloon line, launched at the 1948 London Motor Show alongside the XK120. It kept the pushrod straight-six from the Mk IV but moved to a new chassis with double-wishbone and torsion-bar independent front suspension, a layout Jaguar used for years afterwards. This is the more desirable 3.5-litre car, rated at 126 bhp, in three-position drophead coupé form, a body style that is now much harder to find than the saloon.

Chassis 647242 was fully restored by Davenport Cars in the late 1990s, finishing in 2000, and the work is described as well documented. It is painted white with a maroon mohair hood, and the interior has maroon leather, carpets and burr walnut woodwork, all described as unmarked or in very good order.

The dealer sold the car to its current owner in Holland in 2019 and it still carries Dutch plates, so no tax is due if sold within the EEC. It is used regularly for short runs in fine weather and can be viewed in Ouddorp by appointment. No mileage is stated.
