The Mark VII was Jaguar's big, wood-and-leather saloon of the 1950s, and this 1956 car is a later example with the 3.4-litre engine rated at 190 bhp, paired with a four-speed manual gearbox. It is a more sporting alternative to the contemporary Bentley R Type and Rolls-Royce Silver Dawn, and considerably less common than either.
The car was supplied new to Glasgow and was chauffeur driven early in its life. A Scottish motor museum bought it decades ago from the second owner and kept it for more than 45 years, displaying it and using it regularly but sparingly. It has covered 95,500 miles from new, and the page says MOT records show a gradual rise in mileage over that time.
The interior retains its original red leather and burr walnut trim. The exterior has been resprayed in its original grey, with chrome redone where needed. About £5,000 has recently been spent on fitting power steering, replacing a leaking fuel tank and renewing the rubber hoses in the engine bay. It is offered with the registration PYS465.

The maker’s official figures for this model, not measurements of this car (Jaguar's published figures for the 1956 Mark VIIM: 3442cc XK straight-six, 190 bhp gross (SAE). Not confident of Jaguar's own kerb weight, top speed or 0-60, so those are null; period figures come from magazine road tests.).
£50,000 since it was listed on 6 November 2026. No changes yet.
