The Escort RS1600i was Ford's fuel-injected, front-drive hot hatch of the early 1980s, built to homologate the model for competition and now one of the more sought-after Mk3 Escorts. This 1983 car is in Sunburst Red with a Shark Grey crushed velour interior, and it has covered 39,965 miles.
It has been shown regularly and won first place at a regional day. The page describes an underside restoration, a new-old-stock front lower spoiler, etched glass and period Dunlop SP Super Sport D4 tyres. Factory options include electric windows, rear seat belts and a radio cassette. The engine still has its original twin-coil ignition setup.
First registered on 1 September 1983 and supplied new by H&J Quick of Old Trafford, it went to a florist in Shoreditch and has had five keepers. A large history file holds the original dealer booklets in their sleeve and service and MOT records from near-new, and there are two keys. The car is right-hand drive with a manual gearbox.

The maker’s official figures for this model, not measurements of this car (Ford-published 115 PS DIN rating for the fuel-injected 1.6 CVH engine. Weight, top speed and 0-60 left null because the published figures could not be confirmed. Build count not given: this was a homologation run with no fixed announced number.).
