This is an early Ford Escort RS Cosworth, the road-going homologation special built so Ford could go rallying in Group A. Early cars like this one have the blue cam cover and the larger Garrett T3 turbocharger, which enthusiasts tend to regard as the purest specification. Power is the standard 227 bhp, sent through Ferguson four-wheel drive.
It has covered about 20,200 miles and has had one owner from new, which is unusual for a car that so often went on to be modified. The dealer says it has never been tuned and retains its factory specification. It is finished in Diamond White with the original grey leather Recaro interior.
The history file includes the owner's manuals and service literature, the Ford Customer Service Record Assurance Certificate, and a run of old tax discs. Both factory immobilisers, the locking wheel nut and several factory accessories are with the car, and an unopened Ford screen wash bottle is still in the boot.
