The 208 GT4 was the Italian-market version of Ferrari's Bertone-styled mid-engined 2+2, fitted with a smaller engine to sidestep Italy's heavy tax on larger-engined cars. This left-hand-drive example is one of about 840 built for that market. It was first sold in September 1975 through the Florence dealer Campagnano Automobili.
It has a notable ownership link: the late Fabrizio Violati, the racer who owned 250 GTO #3851 and founded the Maranello Rosso collection in San Marino. The car is finished in Rosso Corsa with a black vinyl and red velour interior, and shows 61,000 miles. It is still Italian registered on its black Roma plates.
The history file includes a Keith Bluemel report, service records, Italian registration documents, period brochures and a factory press kit, plus the toolkit, jack and a car cover. A major service and recommissioning in 2021 included new cam belts, at about £9k. Further work followed, including a new windscreen and a fresh MOT, at about £4.6k.
