This is a 1971 Datsun 240Z that has been rebuilt as a Scarab-style V8 restomod. Under the bonnet is a Watson Racing-built Chevrolet 350 V8, reported at around 400 bhp. The engine work is said to include a Scat crank, Probe rods, forged pistons, a hydraulic cam, Brodix intake and a Demon 750 CFM carburettor. Power goes through a Muncie M22 four-speed manual and a limited-slip differential from a 300ZX Turbo.
The chassis has been uprated to suit. It has BC Racing coilovers, polyurethane bushings, chassis reinforcement, a four-piston front brake conversion and drilled discs. An earlier advert is said to have mentioned a seam-welded shell. The car was first supplied through Deane Motors in Ireland and later joined the Drift Games collection, which gave it the wide-arch, motorsport look it has now: grey wrap, graphics, number roundels, a deep front air dam and deep-dish wheels. The original orange paint is understood to remain under the wrap. Inside there is a digital dash and a stripped-back cabin.
The dealer lists 500 miles but says this should be treated as non-warranted given the extent of the build. The page shows an April 2024 registration date, but no plate is given.
