About this car
This is the first Costin-Nathan GT, the car Frank Costin and Roger Nathan built ahead of the 1967 Olympia International Racing Car Show. It is a 1966 car, and Nathan is its current owner. That history, together with its place as the original of a rare British marque, makes it an unusual proposition.
The construction is as unconventional as the provenance. It has a Gaboon ply tub with spaceframe front and rear sections, and Costin-designed aerodynamics. The car weighs around 400kg. Power comes from a 998cc Imp four-cylinder producing 110 bhp, with a five-speed Imp-based transaxle.
Guy Sheppard of Rawlson Racing in Kent has fully restored it, keeping as much of the original tub as possible, including the door channels and hinges. The transaxle was rebuilt by Jack Knight. The car has new FIA HTP papers and was featured in Octane in February 2024. The price is listed as ONO, and part exchange is possible.
