Bentley Speed 8 Petersen Lemans Special

This is a Petersen-built Le Mans-style special on an original 1935 Derby Bentley chassis (B125DK). Bob Petersen Engineering completed it, and the dealer notes that building on a genuine Derby chassis makes registration abroad straightforward. Such cars are rare and the work is hand-finished.

The power comes from a straight-eight B80 ex-military engine of 6.5 litres, fitted with four carburettors. It was new old stock when installed. The gearbox is a modified Bentley Mk VI unit with a Petersen Laycock overdrive.

The wide ash-framed body is painted British racing green. It has high-backed seats with heated bases and lumbar support, green Connolly leather and green Wilton wool carpet. Other details include a folding screen with aero screens, a double duck hood with tonneau cover, wind excluders, leather door saddles, a locking exterior toolkit and a turned-aluminium dashboard with team-car instruments. It is UK registered as UG8074. No mileage is given.
