Bentley S3 Saloon

The S3 was the last of the separate-chassis, Crewe-built Bentley saloons to use the older styling before the Bentley T-Series arrived, and this 1963 example has an unusually well-documented life. It was delivered new on 8 April 1963 to Mr Eric Colston J.P. of the Hoover Vacuum Company, and one owner kept it from 1991 until 2019. The current owner, who had known the car for years, bought it after that owner's death.

It is finished in Masons Black over original pale grey leather, with light patina on the driver's seat. The woodwork is original and in good condition, the carpets are dark green, and walnut picnic tables sit in the seat backs. The car spent some years in the USA, where modern air conditioning and a Clarion sound system with rear speakers were fitted.

The odometer reads 12,811 miles, though the dealer says 100,000 miles should be added, which would make 112,811 from new. Service history comes from Broughtons of Cheltenham, and the car has books, papers, MOT certificates and the original owner's manual. A service and brake work are being done before sale, and the tyres appear to have been replaced recently. The page also mentions a £70,000 valuation certificate. The page quotes both £38,000 and £48,000, and it carries an "Accepted" marker, which may mean an offer has been agreed.
