The S2 Continental was the sportier, coachbuilt version of Bentley's S2 saloon, introduced in 1959 with the new 6.2-litre V8. This 1961 car carries HJ Mulliner coachwork, one of the best-regarded names in British bodybuilding, and is paired with a four-speed Hydra-Matic automatic gearbox.
It is finished in Georgian Silver with a red leather interior that the dealer describes as patinated, and the brightwork is said to be in excellent order. The odometer shows 55,125 miles.
The current keeper has owned the car since 1985 and has a file of invoices and receipts going back to that year. Servicing was first done by Axtell Automobiles of Bramley, then by the selling dealer for almost 30 years. The car has recently been in the dealer's workshop for preparation ahead of sale.
