This is a Cricklewood-style special built on a 1948 Bentley Mark VI chassis. It was assembled about four years ago for a long-time owner of several W.O. Bentleys, who intended it as his last car. The result looks like a vintage Bentley but has the Mark VI's more modern brakes, steering and suspension.
The chassis was stripped, bead blasted, primed and painted. The engine was rebuilt with the cylinders resleeved and the capacity raised to 4.5 litres. A free-flowing "bunch of bananas" exhaust was fabricated to go with it. The work was carried out by Bentley engine specialist Gary Bretherton and is documented in the history file.
The body is a traditional ash frame covered in green fabric, with new green leather inside and a full-length split tonneau cover that works with the hood up or down. Details include a turned-aluminium dash, helmet-style wings, a bare aluminium bonnet, French Marechal headlights and 21-inch wire wheels on nearly new Blockley tyres. The car is registered MZ1598 and is currently in Dorset. The page marks the price as accepted, which suggests an offer has been agreed.

The maker’s official figures for this model, not measurements of this car ("W.O. Style Special" isn't a recognised Bentley factory variant, probably a later special on a Mark VI chassis, so no factory figures exist. Layout shown is the standard 1948 4,257 cc Mark VI chassis; Bentley published no power figure.).
£150,000 since it was listed on 5 November 2026. No changes yet.
