This is a 1937 Derby-built Bentley 4.25 Litre with Park Ward drophead coupé coachwork, which the dealer describes as the last Park Ward DHC made to this design. The Derby Bentley is the quieter, more refined successor to the Cricklewood cars, and Park Ward's open bodies on it are among the more elegant of the period.
The car has had a full nut-and-bolt restoration, with a reported spend of close to a quarter of a million pounds. The body came off the chassis, and all the rotted woodwork was replaced with ash framing to the original pattern. The engine and drivetrain were rebuilt, with the specialist engine machining done by Ristes of Nottingham.
Only a few hundred miles have been covered since the work finished, so the engine is still being run in. The car comes with photographs of the restoration and the bills for it. It is being sold on behalf of the widow of the owner who commissioned the work. The page marks the price as accepted, so an offer appears to have been agreed.

The maker’s official figures for this model, not measurements of this car (Engine figures are from Bentley/Rolls-Royce Derby-era chassis specs. The factory gave no power figure, Park Ward fitted coachbuilt bodies individually, and no factory performance or weight figures exist, so those are null.).
£90,000 since it was listed on 5 November 2026. No changes yet.
