This 1937 Derby-built Bentley 4.25 Litre carries a two-seater drophead body in the style of Vanden Plas. It wasn't born that way: the chassis, B-183-JY, started life with a Park Ward saloon body and was rebodied after the war. The result is a rakish sports tourer rather than a formal carriage.
The coachwork has full flowing wings, cut-away doors, chrome side strakes, rear wheel spats and an enclosed spare wheel cover. Behind the front seats is a large luggage platform, which the dealer says could take a single or bench seat. The car is painted bright blue with darker blue hide inside.
It comes with the T7 registration, first issued in Devon. The dealer is servicing the car and having a new hood bag made to tidy the hood when it is folded. They describe it as mechanically strong, with a quiet engine, a smooth ride and an easy gearbox. No mileage or ownership history is given.
