This 1935 Derby Bentley 3½ Litre carries Thrupp & Maberly sports saloon coachwork, a handsome and well-proportioned body with 'trouser crease' wings, chrome waistline mouldings, Marchal headlights and long trumpet Lucas horns. A chrome-plated dashboard is a very unusual extra. It is finished in light grey and green over its original green leather interior.

Chassis B36EF began life as a trials car or demonstrator for Jack Barclay, registered JB1000, and featured several times in the Bentley journal 'On the Road' in the 1930s. Later owners included a Birmingham industrialist's family, a London couple with South African roots, the Campbell family from the late 1940s until 1976, and a European collector who kept it until 1993.
