£139,995
About this car
The DBS V8 was Aston Martin's first production V8, and this Series 1 car is one of fewer than 400 built before the model was revised. Its all-alloy quad-cam engine, quoted at 320 bhp, was developed with Le Mans in mind, and it sits in a body penned by William Towns that traded the older DB6 look for a broader, squared-off fastback shape. It was Britain's answer to the muscle-car era, aimed at fast, long-distance touring.
This example is finished in Raven Black over a black Connolly leather interior, with black leather on the fascia and centre console. It has covered 73,420 miles from new. Period equipment includes Coolaire air conditioning, electric windows, a stereo radio system and white GKN light alloy wheels. Disc brakes and independent suspension were advanced for the time. Power goes through a Chrysler TorqueFlite three-speed automatic, which suits the car's grand touring character.
An extensive history portfolio accompanies the car, documenting servicing, MOT records and other work carried out. The car is described as retaining a high degree of originality and patina, which matters on a model this rare and this hand-built.
