This 1963 Aston Martin DB4 Series V is one of only four or five Series V cars built without the faired-in headlamps, according to the factory build sheet and research with Aston Martin archivist Tim Cottingham. The Series V is also the longest DB4, with a body 9cm longer than earlier cars, a slightly taller roof for rear passengers and 15-inch wheels in place of the 16-inch type.
It is finished in Fiesta Red with a black leather interior. The car was delivered new to the Road Research Laboratory in Harmondsworth, was entered in an auction in January 1970, and later spent at least 18 years in the United States. It was maintained by Steel Wings around 2000 and has been with its most recent owner since 2004.
The car no longer has its original specification. It left the factory with the 3.7-litre twin-cam six and twin SU carburettors, rated at around 236 bhp. It now has an engine of about 4.2 litres with triple twin-choke Weber carburettors, which the dealer says is comparable with a DB4 Vantage, and a five-speed manual gearbox. The odometer reads 32,500 miles.

The maker’s official figures for this model, not measurements of this car (Aston Martin's quoted figures from the period for the standard twin-SU 3.7-litre straight-six (240 bhp gross). Weight, top speed and acceleration left null because only road-test figures are available, not confirmed factory ones.).
£345,000 since it was listed on 5 November 2026. No changes yet.
