The DB4 GT was Aston Martin's road-going competition car, built on a shorter, lighter chassis than the standard DB4 with aluminium bodywork and a more powerful engine. Only 75 were made. This one is the second built and the first in right-hand drive, delivered new in December 1959 through Brooklands Ltd to a racing driver and gentleman farmer. It left the factory in Bristol Red with a cream Connolly hide interior.
The car was used on the road rather than raced, covering more than 6,000 miles in its first year, with early servicing carried out by Aston Martin's own service division. Frank Sytner owned it from 1990, during which a chassis restoration and a repaint in Aston Martin Racing Green were completed. A long-term enthusiast then kept it for 23 years. In that time R. S. Williams rebuilt the engine to 4.2 litres with forged conrods and Cosworth pistons, and a dynamometer printout records 350 bhp. The suspension was also modified, with a lowered front roll centre, adjustable arms and a stronger anti-roll bar.
The car has covered about 15,000 miles since the restoration, and the odometer reads 10,282 miles. The dealer states that its Heritage technicians have inspected it and confirmed matching engine and chassis numbers, and that it has had a fresh service. It comes with a history folio containing factory build details, service records, restoration invoices, MoT certificates covering 40 years, a tool roll, a jack and a copper mallet. The page lists six previous owners.

The maker’s official figures for this model, not measurements of this car (Aston Martin period factory claims for the DB4 GT (302 bhp, 3,670 cc twin-plug straight-six). Weight, top speed and 0-60 are omitted because no confirmed factory figures were available.).
