The Alvis TD21 was the sort of understated, coachbuilt grand tourer that appealed to people who preferred not to shout about their money. This 1962 Series II drophead coupé is one of only 59 Series II DHC cars bodied by Park Ward, and offers one of the few genuine four-seat convertible layouts of its era. The Series II brought disc brakes all round and lighter aluminium doors in place of the heavy steel ones on early cars.
It has been in one family from new, passing from the original owner to his brother and then to his grandson in 1998. It has spent most of its life garaged in London and retains its original registration, 700 TKT. The odometer reads about 24,000 miles, supported by old paper MOTs back to 1996, when it showed 21,641.
Servicing history goes back to 1996 and is almost entirely with Red Triangle, where the car had a 70-point service in June 2024. It was restored in 1986, with a full retrim and a new hood. The cream paint has a few minor blemishes, and the panel fit is described as very good.
