This is a recreation of the Alfa Romeo 8C 2300 Monza, the short-chassis racing version of the 1930s straight-eight that won at Le Mans four years running and took seven Mille Miglia victories. It is a modern build rather than an original car, and it makes no claim to be a specific chassis.
The rolling chassis and hand-made body came from The Design Cast Ltd in New Zealand, over about two years. The 3,051cc supercharged straight-eight and four-speed gearbox were built by Alfa 8C specialist Jim Stokes in Hampshire. Setford & Co assembled the car in 2023 and logged more than 2,100 hours of labour. It uses period-correct instruments, original Bosch headlamps, switchgear and badges where possible. The paint is a pale blue inspired by Louis Chiron's period car, with bespoke luggage boxes and livery.
The engine is rated at 260 bhp. The car is right-hand drive with a manual gearbox, and it comes with an FIA Historic Technical Passport, which opens up eligibility for historic races and rallies. The page gives no price or odometer reading, and the car is offered by its commissioning owner.
