This 1969 Alfa Romeo GT Junior has been rebuilt along the lines of an Alfaholics GTA-R: a 105-series coupé kept light and analogue, but with modern suspension, brakes and drivetrain. Alfaholics invoices for suspension, wheels, lightweight glazing and other parts come to nearly £83,000.
It was found in Sicily in 2017 and driven to Germany by its then keeper, who carried out a full restoration. The shell was walnut-blasted, and corrosion was repaired with lead loading and new underbody and floor sections. It was then reinforced with a structural roll cage and fitted with carbon bonnet, boot lid and doors before a repaint in midnight blue.
The engine, the strengthened gearbox with shorter ratios and the limited-slip differential were built by Peter Praller in Munich. A dyno run showed 197 bhp, almost double the original output. It is left-hand drive with a manual gearbox, and comes with a history file and photographic record of the restoration. European taxes are paid. No odometer reading or price is given, and the car is currently under offer.
