This is a 1935 AC 16/70 that has been developed into a vintage competition special by Rod Briggs, a specialist in pre-1963 AC six-cylinder engines. It keeps the 1991 cc single-overhead-camshaft six that AC built from 1919 to 1963, but with a lightweight roadster body and a great deal of period-faithful development. The car is also Briggs's own development platform. Parts now sold to AC owners, including redesigned water pumps, billet crankshafts, forged connecting rods, improved flywheels and upgraded timing gear and rocker gear, were first proven on it in VSCC hill climbs, speed trials and sprints. It is finished in white with black trim, is right-hand drive with a manual gearbox, and shows 14,768 miles. The page lists two previous keepers. The exact chronology of its conversion to a special is not fully documented. The price is on application.
