This 1937 Wolseley 18/80 Salon De Ville is a pre-war six-cylinder saloon with an Art Deco dashboard. It has an unusual screen-and-film history: it appeared in the 2014 film Dad's Army, and the history file includes a photograph of Catherine Zeta-Jones with the car. It has also worked on the BBC productions Philomena and The Bletchley Circle II.
The car has had a body-off restoration. The chassis was stripped and cleaned, and the 2.4-litre engine was rebuilt with a re-ground crankshaft, new pistons and new main and big-end bearings. The cylinder head was rebuilt, a new wiring harness was made, and the car was repainted back to bare metal. It also has a new interior, with grey leather, wood trim and a wool headlining, plus some re-chroming. Since the work it has covered around 8,000 miles and won awards on the show circuit in the 1990s.
It is offered with an extensive history file. The dealer says it is viewable by appointment in Northern Ireland. The listing gives no odometer reading, owner count or colour.
