This 1971 Volkswagen Type 2 carries the Devon Moonraker conversion, a pop-top camper layout from Devon Motor Caravans. It has stayed in one family since it was bought new in Kent, passing from the first owner to his granddaughter about ten years ago. The page gives its mileage as a genuine 50,000.
The paperwork is unusually complete. It includes the owner's manual for the van, the separate Moonraker conversion manual, the original service record and the VW punch card. The Devon furniture and original pop-top canvas are still in place.
The van has been regularly waxoyled and the paintwork has been detailed and ceramic coated. BD Engineering inspected the underside and described it as exceptional. The original 1.6-litre air-cooled engine has been removed and serviced on the bench, with a new crankshaft oil seal and a new fuel tank fitted. New tyres and a new carburettor are also listed. A retro awning and poles are included but untested.

The maker’s official figures for this model, not measurements of this car (VW factory engine spec for the 1971 Type 2 1600 (50 PS DIN). Base van built in Hanover; Devon (Sidmouth, UK) did the camper conversion. No published factory weight or performance figures for the camper, so those are null.).
£24,995 since it was listed on 6 November 2026. No changes yet.
