Volkswagen T2 Bay Window Camper Van Devon Pop Top

A 1971 Volkswagen T2 Bay Window in Devon pop-top camper form, and a factory right-hand-drive example. It is an early Bay, with the walk-through cab and split bulkhead, and it has front disc brakes, which improved on the earlier drums.

The odometer reads 66,000 miles. MOT certificates going back to the early 1990s are in a large history file and show the mileage building slowly. The dealer says the figure looks genuine. The 1600 engine is a reconditioned unit fitted some time ago and described as well serviced. The bus was restored about ten years ago, with photographs and paperwork for that work, and it has not been heavily modified.

Inside, the front seats and door cards have been retrimmed in Sea Blue vinyl with cream piping, and there is a new Madmatz front carpet set. The conversion has a three-quarter-width rock 'n' roll bed, side cabinetry and a SMEV sink and two-burner hob. The pop top works and still has its original factory canvas. A fresh 12-month MOT is included.
