This 1949 Triumph 2000 Roadster is a pre-war-styled post-war open car with the traditional twin dickey seats in the boot, and it has been usefully modified. A previous owner spent around 15 years restoring it, and it has won prizes for its paint, finished in pale metallic blue.
The biggest change is under the bonnet: a TR4A engine fed by a pair of twin-choke Weber carburettors, which the page says makes it far quicker than a standard car. To suit, it was converted to hydraulic disc brakes by an engineering shop and fitted with a new-old-stock gearbox, a new differential and a new steering box. Other changes include a high-torque starter, an alternator conversion, an electronic distributor, a Kenlow fan and a full stainless steel exhaust.
Inside, the medium blue leather is matched with blue carpets, and the refinished woodwork and a new dark blue mohair hood complete the cabin. A modern sound system is hidden in the driver's side glove box. The car has covered about 5,000 miles since the work was done, and it is being sold following the death of the owner who carried it out. The page gives no odometer reading.
