This Spice SE89P was built for the American IMSA GTP class and fitted with Chevrolet V8 power. It was run by Jim Miller Racing and played a part in the formation of Pratt & Miller, the team that later became known for its Corvette Racing programme.
Jim Miller and Bob Earl raced it through the 1989 IMSA season, with second places at Watkins Glen and Tampa. It was developed for 1990, when Wayne Taylor joined Miller, and finished second at Lime Rock. In 1991 it ran alongside its successor, the Intrepid, with Tommy Kendall, who took pole position at West Palm Beach.
Period development by Pratt & Miller with Bob Riley gave it a distinct engine, suspension and aerodynamic package. In historic racing it has won outright in Group C and took the 2019 championship. It is eligible for Peter Auto's Group C series and the Le Mans Classic. The page gives no price, mileage or registration.
