Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow Mulliner Park Ward Convertible

This 1971 Rolls-Royce Mulliner Park Ward convertible, chassis DRH9757, was supplied new through Jack Barclay in Masons Black with black hide, grey carpets and a grey hood lining. It was ordered by Peter Rogers, producer of the Carry On films, and the specification included fog lamps, plain Sundym glass and a Philips cassette player fitted to the centre console.

Its history is unusually well documented. Early dealer service vouchers are present, and one owner kept it for more than 30 years from 1979, covering about 13,000 miles and spending almost £50,000 on maintenance, all backed by invoices. The car stood unused from 2013 to 2018, then was repainted in its original colour. About £13,000 was spent on mechanical work in 2019, and the wood was re-veneered and lacquered.

Since 2020 it has covered around 5,000 miles. Recent work includes a new hood, re-trimmed leather, an engine rebuild and further mechanical and electrical attention from a Rolls-Royce specialist. The file also includes factory archive records, handbooks, the delivery document, old MOT certificates and the original tool kit. Mileage is stated as 81,000.
