Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud III Flying Spur

The Flying Spur was H. J. Mulliner's four-door coachbuilt body on the Silver Cloud III chassis, and this 1965 car is described as one of the last built. It wears Dawn Blue, a mid-toned non-metallic shade that the page says is its original Mulliner colour.

It has been through a ground-up restoration by Ristes Motors of Nottingham, with more than £100,000 spent on top of the purchase price. The body was taken to bare metal before repainting, and the chrome was re-plated by Derby Plating, with an £11,000 invoice on file. The V8 has been fully rebuilt. Air conditioning, an electric cooling fan, seatbelts and a discreetly mounted CD tuner have been added.

Inside, the original leather has been kept and re-dyed grey, the wood refurbished apart from the dash, and new carpets fitted. Lifetime mileage is given as about 90,000, which the history file is said to support. The car is Swedish-registered with EEC taxes paid and is currently in Sweden. The listing says it was once used to open the Edinburgh Bypass. The dealer marks the price as accepted.
