Rolls-Royce Phantom VI

The Phantom VI was the last of the Rolls-Royce coachbuilt state limousines, and this one is an early car with the rear-hinged "suicide" back doors that were dropped on later examples. The dealer dates it to 1971 in the headline, though the details panel gives 1976, so the year is worth confirming. The chassis number is PRH4636.

It has just been through a major restoration covering the body, woodwork, interior trim and mechanicals. All corrosion has been cut out, and new inner and outer sills fitted. The paint is silver over metallic black. Inside are new tan leather, beige carpets and burr walnut that has been removed and French polished. The dealer says more than £100,000 has been spent on the work.

Rear-compartment features include a cocktail cabinet, a period-style radio, picnic tables and twin fold-out occasional seats, making it a true seven-seater. The car is UK registered, but the plate is still to be confirmed because a private number is being retained. No mileage is given, and the dealer says a full photo shoot will follow once the final restoration work is complete.
