Listed today at Legends Automotive, Farmington.
The Renault 5 Turbo is one of the great homologation specials: a mid-engined, rear-drive supermini built to go rallying. This car was built in October 1982 and first registered in the UK on 31 December 1983, after spending part of its life in Spain and the Canary Islands.
The engine was upgraded to 225 hp by Tony Price, well above standard output. More recently it has had a documented restoration that included a full strip-down, repaint, interior work and rebuilds of the engine and gearbox.
It was re-imported to the UK in November 2020, with UK taxes paid under a NOVA certificate. Spanish registration and EU taxes are also paid, so it can return to the EU without further tax. A substantial file holds old MOT certificates, tax discs and maintenance receipts. The car is listed as sold.

The maker’s official figures for this model, not measurements of this car (Renault factory figures for 5 Turbo 2: 160 PS (DIN), 200 km/h. Kerb weight and 0-60 time left out because I couldn't confirm the published figures.).
