The Cayman R was Porsche's 2011 answer to the complaint that the mid-engined car was deliberately kept a step behind the 911. It gained 330 bhp from the 3.4-litre flat-six, shed around 55 kg, sat 20 mm lower and borrowed aluminium doors from the GT programme. Autocar named it Britain's best drivers' car on its launch.
This example is the PDK version with sports seats, rather than the manual-with-carbon-buckets pairing many enthusiasts favour. It was supplied new through Porsche Centre Cardiff in September 2011 in Carrara White, with a black leather interior and white-painted seat backs, dash trim and centre console. Options include 19-inch Boxster Spyder wheels in gloss black, Sport Chrono Plus, a sports exhaust, a limited-slip differential, Xenon Plus with dynamic cornering lights and Park Distance Control.
It has covered 30,100 miles and has had three keepers from new. Servicing has been split between Porsche Centres and specialists.
