Porsche 911 T Sportomatic

This 1969 911 T is a right-hand-drive UK car with the Sportomatic transmission, a four-speed gearbox paired with a torque converter and a vacuum-operated clutch. The page cites UK records suggesting only 192 Sportomatics were imported between 1968 and 1972, with five registered in 1969, and many were later converted to manual. It is a matching-numbers car with a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, and it comes from the 1969 crossover year, with the longer wheelbase and magnesium crankcase in the earlier-style body.

The car was originally Olive and was repainted in Slate Grey (6801) during a bare-metal restoration by Whisperer 911 Ltd, which began in 2017. The 2.0-litre flat-six and the gearbox were rebuilt, as were the Weber carburettors, suspension and brakes. The interior goes beyond 1969 specification, with Connolly hide seats, a leather-covered dashboard, restored green dials, a Mota Lita steering wheel and a concealed Bluetooth system. It has Fuchs wheels, new tyres and a recent gearbox overhaul.

First registered in April 1969 to the solicitor Derek Clogg, it stayed in his family until 2003. The current owner bought it in 2021. The speedometer reads 1,272 miles, counted since the restoration, and an MOT recorded 973 miles in June 2021. The car comes with the original wallet, books, Sportomatic brochure, V5, both sets of keys and a restoration dossier.
