This is a B-series 911E, the 1969 model year that brought a longer wheelbase, magnesium engine cases and Bosch mechanical fuel injection to the E and S. The longer wheelbase tamed some of the early cars' tail-happy manners. It is a left-hand-drive car with a five-speed manual gearbox, finished in Canary Yellow, a special-order colour.
It was ordered through Porsche Cars Pacific and delivered new to a first owner in California in May 1969, and the original sales invoice remains in the history file. The car is described as matching numbers, with about 25,000 miles from new in one family's hands before import to the UK in 2010. It has covered roughly 4,000 miles since, for a total of 30,550.
The car has had exterior repaint work over the years but has never been restored, so it keeps much of its original interior. A full engine rebuild, including new barrels and pistons, has just been carried out.
