A 1964 Mini Cooper S built as a historic race car, finished in Castrol Green. It was prepared by specialist Rae Davis of Rae Davis Racing, with the engine built by Classic and Modern Engine Services. Davis built it for his own use and raced it at Goodwood.
It later passed to Desmond Smail, who has campaigned it at events including the St Marys Trophy, Goodwood Revival and the Sears Trophy. Co-drivers have included Rob Huff and Emanuele Pirro. Results include a class win at the Trans-Atlantic Touring Car Trophy at the Silverstone Classic and an overall win in the Historic Masters Pre-66 Touring Cars Trophy at Brands Hatch.
The car has never had a major accident or needed rebuilding, and a spare engine is included. It hasn't raced for a few years and has been stored dry. It has a current FIA passport.

The maker’s official figures for this model, not measurements of this car (BMC never published factory specs for a 'Race Car' variant. Competition Cooper S cars were individually prepared (970/1071/1275cc in 1964), so performance figures are left null. Only basic layout facts are given.).
